Open guideDEFINE YOUR SCENARIO
Select a test VM or application that will not affect production. Record the recovery point, acceptable data loss and the files or application data to check after recovery.
Check platform connectivity and required account permissions. Verify that the virtualization or cluster inventory shows the correct resources. Proxy, node and Job access must match your installation guide.
Select the correct storage record. Validate repository identity, HTTPS endpoint, certificate trust and available capacity. Access to the management interface does not establish that the transfer path is ready.
Define source workloads, target storage, schedule and retention. If using an application-consistent profile, confirm guest and hook prerequisites with the technical team.
Start the initial run and follow progress in task and notification details. Check job success, selected resources and the resulting recovery point. If an error occurs, record details before retrying.
Use a new, isolated target supported by your platform. Check target name, storage and network mappings. Do not make overwriting existing production data the default choice for a test.
Verify files or database data, application startup and required services. Record the result, product/platform versions and steps taken. Schedule another restore test when the environment changes.
COMMON QUESTIONS
A successful job is the first step. Complete the scenario by restoring and validating application data.
Share product/platform versions, approximate error time, task ID and error text with passwords and tokens removed. Do not include credentials in support messages.
